It is time for NCDAA’s popular DWI Defense program. The seminar features two national DWI defense experts as
well as Nebraska’s most talented and experienced DWI attorneys. As the penalties for DWI become increasingly
draconian, it becomes even more important that counsel be well prepared and up-to-date on the latest procedures,
legislation, caselaw and rules, in order to provide the best possible defense for their clients.
Full Program Schedule and Speakers
Attorney Charles L. Sifers joins us from Oklahoma
City. He is a highly experienced DWI defense attorney
who has been a Regent of the National College for DUI
Defense, is certified on the Intoxilyzer 5000 and is a
certified trainer for field sobriety testing. He has lectured
throughout the United States and NCDAA is privileged
to have him speak at our program.
Forensic Toxicologist and Physiologist Dr. Wanda
Marley is based in Fort Collins. However, she works
across the county lecturing, teaching and consulting
on issues relating to breath alcohol testing, absorption
spectrometry, toxicology of ethanol and gastric reflux
disease. Her knowledge of the field is unsurpassed and
she will provide many new insights.
Nebraska has its own very experienced and talented
DWI defense attorneys. Some of the best and brightest
will be presenting at this program. Updates on caselaw,
legislation and regulations will be provided by Matt
Kosmicki of Lincoln, Jeff Kirkpatrick of Lincoln,
and Pete Blakeslee of Lincoln. They will discuss recent
developments and give you tips on how to use these
tools. Mark Rappl of Lincoln will talk about collateral
consequences of DWI convictions. There are many and
the numbers are growing. John Ball of Lincoln will
address the special issues surrounding aggravated DWI
charges and how to deal with them effectively. Interlock
providers will explain how best to use their services.
At the end of the day, four of the most experienced DWI
defense attorneys in the state will share their insights,
take audience questions and discuss various issues as
a panel. Dave Jorgensen of Kearney will join seminar
chairs Bell Island of Scottsbluff, Russ Jones of North
Platte and Brad Roth of Lincoln in what promises to be
a lively discussion and an excellent way to bring together
the information presented during the day.
