Spike Eickholt, member and NCDAA lobbyist, will present webinar to summarize recently enacted legislation that impacts the practice of criminal defense law. Spike will focus on specific statutory changes relating to changes to criminal procedure, changes to substantive criminal law, changes to sentencing, and new remedies post-sentencing. This is a free benefit for members and approved for 1 CLE credit.
Spike attended the University of Nebraska - Lincoln and the University of Nebraska College of Law. While in law school Spike worked as a law clerk at ACLU Nebraska. Upon graduation Spike worked as an attorney at Legal Aid of Nebraska and then as Legal Counsel for the Nebraska Legislature's Judiciary Committee under then-chair Senator Kermit Brashear. In 2003 Spike accepted a position as a Deputy Lancaster County Public Defender and as a trial attorney represented indigent defendants in hundreds of criminal cases. He is presently practicing as a trial attorney and working in government relations.
