NCDAA Fall Seminar: When Criminal Prosecutions Go Wrong – Convicting the Innocent

The NCDAA Fall Seminar will be held Friday, October 28, 2016 at Embassy Suites-LaVista, in conjunction with the NSBA Annual Meeting.  Register online before 10 a.m. on October 24th at:  http://www.nebar.com/event/NSBAAnnualMeeting_16, or register at the door between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. on Friday, October 28th.  Morning speakers begin at 8:30 a.m. with Rebecca Brown from the Innocence Project speaking on flaws in the criminal justice system, followed by Exoneree Joe D'Ambrosio and Father Neil Kookoothe.  The afternoon session starts off at 1:15 p.m. with Kelli Childress, the Kane County, IL Public Defender speaking on Eyewitness Misidentification; Amy Weber from the Nebraska State Patrol Crime Lab; and Professor Richard A. Leo, known in Nebraska for his expert work in the Beatrice 6 case, speaking on False Confessions.
