Under the leadership of Sarpy County Public Defender Tom Strigenz, the Nebraska Criminal Defense Attorneys Association teamed up with the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, College of Law to provide Criminal Law basics in an intense two day boot camp.     For the first time ever, students joined Nebraska lawyers to learn the tricks of the trade from legal experts around the state. Along with Nebraska’s top criminal defense attorneys, presenters included well respected former Nebraska Supreme Court Justice Nick Caporale.

Elonis v. United States: The Supreme Court Weighs In on Prosecuting Online Threats

At Anthony Elonis' trial for making threatening posts on Facebook, the prosecutor told the jury it didn't matter what Elonis actually intended, as long as a reasonable person would perceive his statements as a true threat.
